Chocolate Coconut Protein Balls

Hey guys! If you are anything like me, I find it quite hard to gain muscle due to my body type. The only method that has really made a difference is eating a lot more protein daily and focusing more time on my weight and resistance training   The annoying thing about eating healthy and training daily is it is already an expensive life choice. Once you factor in any supplements you take for training plus all the fresh fruit, veg and protein, buying protein bars or protein balls for snacks isn’t particularly viable as it becomes very expensive. You also have no control over what ingredients are being used. For these reasons I decided to make my own! These are delicious and AU NATUREL. With the added cocoa it will also satisfy any chocolate cravings so that you don’t undo all your hard work in the gym. This way you can enjoy a guilt-free snack which will also help you reach your fitness goals faster! Plus, these are super easy and quick to make, much more cost effective and can be stored in the fridge ready to go. Ingredients ⅓ cup of vanilla protein powder* 2 heaped tablespoons of coconut flour ½ tablespoon of coconut sugar 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil 2 tablespoons of melted cocoa butter 1 tablespoon of unsweetened almond milk ½ teaspoon of vanilla bean paste Desiccated coconut to roll *I use Bulk Nutrients Vanilla WPI, although any protein powder can be used, as well as different flavours (however, I would recommend vanilla or chocolate for this recipe). *Makes approx. 6 protein balls. Method Add all dry ingredients to a bowl and mix with a spoon until combined evenly Melt cocoa butter and coconut oil Add the vanilla bean paste and almond milk to melted ingredients and stir well to combine Add liquids to bowl of dry ingredients and mix with a spoon until combined evenly Roll mixture into balls Roll balls onto desiccated coconut to cover Place in fridge to set Enjoy! These bad boys will keep any sugar cravings at bay and keep you feeling fuller for longer. Give them a go and don’t forget to let me know what you think in the comments below! Cate xx
